- The priority ceiling Π(R,k) of a resource R that has v ≤ 1 units when k (v ≥ k ≥ 0) are available is the highest priority of all jobs that require more than k units of R The system ceiling at any time is equal to the highest of priority ceilings of all resources in the system.
- Except for this modification the multiple unit priority ceiling protocol is the same as the basic version
