Discipline is a systematic method of obtaining obedience from others. In other words, discipline is a condition which allows the employee to show the specific behavior in an organization.

According to Gary Dessler, “Discipline is a procedure that corrects or punishes a subordinate because a rule or procedure has been violated.”

Thus, discipline is an enforcing compliance to control the behavior of employees in an organization.

  2. Absenteeism
  3. Leaving work without permission

  1. Refuse to obey orders (insubordination)
  2. Defective work
  3. No-reporting of accidents
  4. Drunk on job.
  5. Destruction of property
  6. Fighting on job

     3. Dishonesty related problems:

  1. Stealing of organization property
  2. Falsification of information
  3. Hiding defective works
  4. Creating terror in organizational environment

     4. Outside activities related problems:

  1. Working for other competing organization
  2. Humiliate organization by giving embarrassing speech outside
  3. Involve in other criminal activities outside the organization
