Course Description
Description
This course intends to help the students think strategically about communication and assists them in improving their writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills as future managers. It looks at a set of "best practices" or guidelines that have been derived from both study and experience, gives students the opportunity to put those guidelines into practice. The course also provides guidelines to give feedback on their work, so that they can strengthen their professional abilities.
Objectives
Good communication is one of the keys to a successful career no matter what field one chooses, and many different skills contribute to a professional's capacity to communicate well. By the time you complete this course, you should be able to:
- Create impressive presentations that are delivered with confidence and poise
- Understand the way leaders communicates with their team mates, and the way they inspire, cooperate, build trust and change
- Conduct effective meetings
- Work effectively with others in small groups or teams
- Build gender specific communication
- Identify and negotiate the difference in communication between yourself and people who are not from your culture
- Formulate an effective communication strategy for any message, in any medium, and in any situation
- Write clearly, concisely, and convincingly
