Operations managers are responsible for managing those activities which are part of the production of goods and services. Their direct responsibilities include both the operating process, hug design, planning, control, performance improvements and operating strategies.
Managers responsibilities include interacting with those managers and workers whose functional areas within the organization whose roles influence the operation. That areas include marketing, finance, accounting, personnel and engineering also. Operations managers' managerial responsibilities can be divided into the following three categories:

Human resource management: People employed by an organization either work directly to make a good service or provide support to those who do. People and the way they are managed are the major resources of all organizations.
Asset management: Buildings, facilities, equipment of an organization. And the stocks are directly involved in operating functions or support.
Cost management: The cost of production of most goods or services is directly related to the cost of obtaining resources, changing them or reaching customers. Reducing costs through efficient operation management gives them a significant competitive edge.
The production manager is the person who bears the responsibility for carrying out the desired level of production with the planned and available resources. He is the utmost decision making authority for areas commonly optimization of the production function.
