Who are low risk customers?
These are the type of customers whose identity and source of income clearly disclosed and the
transactions in the accounts by and large do not raise any suspicion. Normally, following customers may
be categorized as low risk:
Salaried employees/pensioners whose salary structure is well defined.
People belonging to lower economic strata of the society whose accounts show small balances
and low turnover.
Current account and saving account having annual turnover less than NPR 1 Lakh.
Government departments and Government owned companies, Regulators, Financial Institutions,
Statutory Bodies, etc.
All deposit and borrower accounts pertaining to the Government of Nepal, Governmental
bodies/Corporations/Companies/Organizations, Joint ventures with Government, Regulators,
Financial Institutions, and Statutory Bodies may be classified as low risk account.
All borrower accounts other than those classified as high risk and medium risk.
